Traffic stop leads deputies to drug arrest in North Chico

Butte County deputies arrested two people after a routine traffic stop Oct. 18.

Butte County deputies arrested two suspected drug traffickers after a routine traffic stop in North Chico on Oct. 18.

A green Ford ran a stop sign at Godman and Lassen avenues, so the deputies pulled the car over, according to a news release from the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputies arrested the driver, identified as 48-year-old Brandon Eatmon, and the passenger and vehicle owner, identified as Jennifer Delarosa, 35. Eatmon was driving on a suspended license, and Delarosa’s license had expired.

The deputies searched the car and found about one-half pound of methamphetamine, a large amount of cash, a little bit of what looked like heroin, plastic baggies and a digital scale, according to the release.

All of the items found are known to be used by people who sell illegal drugs. The amount of meth found is much more than what would be a normal dose.

Eatmon and Delarosa were booked into the Butte County Jail for possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale, possession of a controlled narcotic substance and driving on a suspended license.

Eatmon’s bail is set at $119,000, and Delarosa’s is set at $101,000.
