Enloe Medical Center is facing a lawsuit after claims of malpractice following a birth of a newborn last November.
On Nov. 7, Francis Ocasio was admitted to the hospital to have her baby. Throughout arrival, pre-delivery, and the delivery itself, she claims in her lawsuit, she and her child, Alexander Yael Ocasio, were mishandled and the staff that took care of them was inadequate.
Ocasio is suing Dr. Akiba Green and the Enloe staff for negligence, negligent infliction of emotional distress and\loss of consortium.
She claims the poor treatment caused permanent damage to her and her daughter.
Ocasio has also incurred the expenses for child care following the injuries, according to the lawsuit.
A case management conference is scheduled for October.
