It was a robbery gone wrong. One of the suspects was shot by one of the tenants during the robbery.

According to the police, officers responded to a call about a shooting at the apartment building.
They found one of the alleged robbers, Christopher Qualls, 28, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was then transported to Enloe Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The tenants told the police officers that a second man was involved in the attempted robbery, but taht the man had run away.

Detectives, after many hours of interviews, identified Charles Robertson, who was on probation in Butte County, as the second suspect.

With the help of Probation and Community Services, they were able to arrest Robertson without any incident.

Robertson has been charged with attempted invasion robbery. He was taken to the Butte County jail, and his bail was set at $100,000.
