Oroville Hospital is being sued for medical negligence by an Oroville resident who claims the hospital dislocated his hip and damaged hardware from a previous total hip replacement surgery.
In his suit, Daniel Pillus claims he was being transferred from a gurney to an operating table Feb. 24 when his right foot was “caught and tugged,” resulting in the dislocation and hardware damage in his hip.
Oroville Hospital was unavailable for comment about the lawsuit.
Pillus also claims the hospital staff knew about the hip replacement. The incident resulted in Pillus suffering another total hip replacement, hospitalization and additional treatment.
Pillus believes he will be “partially or totally disabled for an indefinite future,” and plans to amend his complaint when he knows the full extent of his injuries and total costs.
A case management conference with Judicial Officer Stephen Benson is scheduled for April 27.
