Woman assaulted near 7th and Walnut streets


A 20-year-old woman, whose name is being withheld by police, was walking in the area of Seventh and Walnut streets Oct. 9 when she was assaulted by a man and dragged into nearby parking lot.

The man struck her repeatedly and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before quickly fleeing the scene, according to a police report. The woman was transported to a hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.


She was released the same day and did not sustain any major injuries.


Police followed up with the woman the next day in order to locate the crime scene and gain further information. As of now they have been unable to locate the suspect.
