Chico City Council votes to provide more public restrooms

Plans were approved to build more public restrooms during Tuesday night’s Chico City Council meeting.

Chico resident Lindsay Wood described to the council the grotesque odor of the Lindo Channel. With no appropriate place for the homeless of Chico to relieve themselves, they are forced to use public places.

Wood said she hoped El Nino would wash away the smell, but it didn’t.

By a unanimous vote, the City Council decided to approve the plan to build public restrooms in Chico to give homeless people an alternative to using public areas.
