Butte College will get new information system

Butte College board members have approved a new programming system that would provide students with access to a variety of resources including child care, transcripts and class schedule.

The new system is called CCCApply and consists of collecting students' information when they apply for admission. It will be accessible to any student admitted to a community college and is set up like a student portal.

The price for CCCApply was not discussed at the Oct. 11 board of trustees meeting, but it will be paid for with funds from Proposition 98, state money for K-12 school and community colleges approved by voters.

As of now, 15 other colleges are implementing the same system. Santa Rosa Junior College is one of the several colleges using it.
