The Paradise City Council approved two road construction contracts at its meeting Tuesday night.
Knife River Construction was awarded a $1.1 million contract for improvements to Pearson Road.
The improvements include clearing, reconstructing guardrails, adjusting water valves and storm drains, and re-paving concrete, Paradise Mayor Jody Jones said.
The second contract was awarded to VSS, International of West Sacramento for a $467,499 road rehabilitation.
It includes examining and cleaning street surfaces, covering gate valve lids, providing traffic control and evening out road surfaces, according to Jones.
