A staff assistant and a long time administrative office assistant have filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Here’s the Deal, a community-based program for people with disabilities in Chico. |
Dawn Hall who is a staff assistant and Jackie Gundert, an office assistant, list 10 instances of harassment in their suit for which they want compensation.
Their claims are directed primarily at Mark Gordon, who is the the chief executive officer of Here’s the Deal.
Hall’s claims includes quid pro quo harassment, which is harassment involving sexual propositions, unwarranted discussions of sexual acts and commentary on an employee’s body.
Gundert claims she was sexually harassed and suffered damages as a result. Her suit also included many other incidents that involve other individuals being harassed.
Here’s the Deal responded that use of sexual language in the workplace does not constitute sexual harassment. The employee must show that gender is a substantial factor in the harassing conduct.
Hall and Gundert did not keep record of the dates and times of their harassment, according to the company's response to the suit. Here’s the Deal and Gordon requested that the court reject their suit.
